I spy Valentine

Valentine’s Day is going to be so much fun this year!  The Valentine cards we made to hand out at M and M’s schools turned out so cute,  but I just couldn’t stop with those.  We have a group of neighborhood kids that have become regulars in our backyard.  I really want to give them something extra special for Valentines Day.

These adorable I Spy Valentines are not just cards… they are a Valentines game!

To make this search-and-find Valentine I started by taking a walk on our street.  I took about 20 pictures, trying to capture as many sections of the street as possible.  The kids that will be recieving these are ages 5-10 so I did my best to make them challenging.  It would be very easy to modify them to be a good fit for younger kids (just make the pictures more obvious).  I used Picasa to create a 4×6 collage.  Then I moved them over to Picnik and added the text.  I printed them onto photo paper (but I think next time I’ll just order them to be printed for me).

The directions for the game were really easy.

Take a walk down

Each time you spy
a match place a
sticker on the picture.
You’ll have to look extra
close to spy these special places.

After printing, and cutting them out I used a glue stick to attach a set of directions to card stock that is just a little bigger than the picture.  I used the glue stick to attach the stickers too.  (Just a dab for the stickers so they will be easy to remove when it’s time to play!)

Normally I am a pretty patient person, but these are so cute…. I don’t know if I can wait until Valentine’s Day to hand them out!  (See what torture I put myself through just for you! ;) )
