A little break from lesson planning

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and is gearing up for a super fun New Years. I have been hard at work preparing for a little break (okay maybe it’s more than a little break. ;) )  While it’s necessary and I am ready for it… I’m also a little sad. I love A Mom with a Lesson Plan and I love sharing playful learning ideas with you. But I have to think about what will make this next 2 months easiest for my family. A break is going to make all the difference!

Why the break?

As you might remember I’m a surrogate mommy. The entire process has been fantastic for our family and this pregnancy has been incredibly easy. Until just a week or so ago I barely even felt pregnant.  Well now I have reached 34 weeks  and I am  officially starting to feel it. I’m tired and a bit crabby (only a bit :) ).

In order to focus on my kids, make sure this bundle is delivered safe and sound into his parents arms, and keep my own sanity; I have no choice but to reduce my workload. That starts here.

How will it affect you?

Well, if you know me and by now I hope you do! You know that I would not walk away and leave you empty handed. Especially not for such a long break. So I have spent the last month freshening up some of my best posts from the past. A Mom with a Lesson Plan has been around for over 2 years now so I’m sure there are a few posts you’ve missed or could read again. There will be 4-5  posts a week (just like normal) and  I do have a few special “new” posts planned as well.

An ABC series will start January 7 and run until January 11. The series will include over 60 bloggers and my theme is one close to my heart. Storytelling.

I’ll make sure to keep you updated on all things baby and let you know how I’m feeling along the way.

When will I be back?

There are two full months of posts ready to be brought back front and center… but that doesn’t mean I’ll be gone for two full months. I wanted to allow myself (and my family) plenty of time to get back to normal before I have to start posting again. If I can come back sooner I will FOR SURE!!! (I’m not even sure I’ll make it to my due date without resurfacing. ;) )

Will I be completely off line?

The part of blogging that I’m taking a break from is the planning, picturing, writing up and sharing learning activities. There is a lot more that goes into running this site though. I will still be checking in here and responding to comments, I’ll be on Facebook (probably less than normal). I’ll have more time to play on Pinterest and I’ll be cleaning up some behind the scenes stuff.

I guess that’s it. So enjoy the goodies I’ve prepared for you and I’ll see you soon.

If you enjoyed this post, please consider leaving a comment or signing up to have future playful learning ideas delivered to your e-mail.
