Good evening my friends. I want to take a moment to tell you about my day. It was a crazy mix of wonderful and stressful… when Little M so sweetly asked “How are you feeling today Mom?” I had to tell her just that.
The wonderful
My niece needed to come home from school because she wasn’t feeling well. My sister was at the airport dropping off her in laws. I have the kind of flexible schedule that allowed me to be a comfortable place for her to relax until her mom could pick her up…. that was wonderful.
When Big M’s teacher asked if I could cut out Flat Stanley’s for a book related project they are doing in class tomorrow I jumped all over it. Anything that expands on books is top priority in my mind… that I was able to help was wonderful.
The stressful
This week just happens to be full of appointments. Most fun, but they fill up my week just the same. Today was my only “work day”. So as wonderful things filled the day, work was pushed back. Being in charge of my own schedule means that I have to reschedule the missed work… and that can be stressful.
I have no completed posts for this week.
So all day I thought, “I’ll just stay up late tonight and get them done.” Knowing full well that I wouldn’t get them all done and this late night would turn into 3 late nights… way too stressful.
A new plan
Somewhere around dinner time, while helping the kids come up with crazy sock ideas for tomorrow I made a decision. No more stressful. Not this week. It’s my birthday after all. Not until Friday, but I’m celebrating Thursday with a day of beauty. Mani, pedi and haircut. (Thanks hubby.
) Friday my family will hang out and do something fun… WONDERFUL!
So I grabbed myself a warm and cozy drink, sat down to write this post and declared this week a vacation.

If you want to give me a present (oh I do love presents) you could leave the link to a few of your favorite amomwithalessonplan posts in the comments. Fun for everyone!
While you’re digging through the archives I will be thumbing through a totally non work or kid related book, sitting quietly with my feet up and enjoying a little stress free break.
Until next week…

Woo hoo!!! Good for you! Have a great birthday and a relaxing end to your week–you deserve it!
