CAMPING book review

This week has been so much fun…and I am a little sad to see it end.  Our family loves camping and pretend camping was no different.  I found a couple of books to add to our experience.  It was so much fun to read them cuddled up by the campfire.

Stella and Roy Go CampingbyAshley Wolff

This one was a recommendation from one of my Facebook Fans.  Renee and Heather from School Sparks said “Stella & Roy Go Camping is a nice book for preschoolers. It has a realistic story and the illustrations are really detailed so the kids can follow along as you read and explore vicariously through the pictures”  I agree.  Thank you for the recommendation!

I really liked that the Stella and Roy used a book to investigate paw prints while they hiked.  Great example of research!

Camping Day is a fun story that begins with a family deciding what to do for the day.  When someone shouts “Camp out!”, they all agree.  I like that the story includes some of the things you need to camp… tent, map, lanterns.  The pictures are colorful and the words are simple.  After an evening of storytelling, songs by the fire and roasting marshmallows, the campers decide it is just too scary to stay in the woods.

So they pack up and head home to camp in the comfort of their backyard.

Well that’s it for my Camping Book Review.  Do you know of a great camping book?  Share it in the comment section!
