A few props and a research guide can turn your little campers into explorers. (Having a few well planned activities makes camping with kids a lot more relaxing.)
I searched the library and found a few books about trees. Unfortunately I did not get any pictures of the ones I ended up with. They were DK Books like this. I was looking for books that showed pictures of trees and leaves. I was hoping that the kids would be able to identify some of the trees in the area we were camping.
I did not, however, realize just how difficult it is to identify trees. Go figure. I also had a very hard time with leaf rubbing so maybe it’s just me!
It was so much fun to watch the girls search through the books, explore the trees around us and the record their finding in their notebooks. (Big M was busy making tracks with a shovel.)
What do you do to make camping with kids extra special?
