Last week a reader asked me a question about sensory play that I didn’t have an answer to. YIKES. Luckily I have no problem admitting that I don’t know everything (don’t tell Hubs).
I quickly brought the question to my Facebook Page and my brilliant readers came to this readers rescue with ideas that deserved to be passed on.
“My daughter will be 2 June 11th, here in a couple weeks and she LOVES playing outside and has no problem with that, but when it comes to getting dirty with paints, food, and things like that, she gets freaked out. Is that normal? Is that a phase that goes away? It makes it REALLY difficult when I want to do finger painting and things of that nature so I was just wondering if you had any advice. Thanks so much!”
To see the answer click on over to the Facebook thread and read away. (Click “like” while you’re there… we have all kinds of fun!)
For my niece Little J the answer was as easy as switching out those cute sandals for some sneakers. (She doesn’t like the way the dirt feels on her feet.)
How do you ease your sensitive kid into sensory play?
