simple science… 14 easy activities

This week kind of turned in to science week (how does that happen to a Mom with such a solid plan?)

We started off Monday with a fun after school science lesson, moved on to Ricki Lake (which was more of a networking experiment for me. ;) )  and followed that up with 5 great science experiments yesterday. FUN!

I’ve decided to roll with it and recap some of the simple science fun we’ve had here over the past 1 and 1/2. If you’ve been around awhile enjoy the memories… I know I did! If you are new here, make sure to enter your email address on the sidebar. There are even more great playful learning ideas to come.

Use science to navigate a hidden maze.

Take advantage of a wet day with a rain experiment or a scientific rain walk.

Celebrate holidays… science style with a rotting pumpkin or an all out egg  experiment event!

Bring the science play outside with a kid made sundialbackyard volcano or some nice messy cornstarch  and water fun!

Match a good book with some simple science fun. George’s Marvelous Medicine or  You Can’t See Your Bones with Binoculars.

Mix science and pretend play with a weather sensory tray.

Science is extra fun when you get to be the sun dial!

For those girly scientists… start with an experiment and end with pretty bracelet

Keep track of all your science fun in a family science / nature journal.

What is your favorite simple science activity?
