It’s spring. It’s beautiful outside and we are enjoying it! Today was the perfect day to throw a blanket on the lawn and get creative. At school Big M uses craft sticks as a reading pointer. I love the idea! Since we are forever searching for bookmarks around here, I thought our reading pointers should have a dual purpose.
Spring Activities… Reading Pointer & Bookmark
Before we got started I asked M and M to think about things that remind them of spring. We took turns sharing our favorite springtime moments.
Once we had a pretty good list I handed over the Sharpies and craft sticks.
It’s always hard to tell how well an activity will go over, this one went on for an hour! We even had to send Little M inside for more craft sticks! I even made a bookmark or two.
My favorite art activities are the ones that leave us with something useful. We now have a handful of bookmark reading pointers near every reading space in the house. Perfect for our little beginning readers!
